We have continued learning about the people in our lives and communities who help us. Specifically, the children have been learning about the roles of police officers, dentists, fire fighters and postal workers, as well as the people in our family who do all the special jobs to care and look after us. In literacy, we have been reading and writing about ‘The Gruffalo’, performing sound poems inspired by fireworks, and we invited the tiger to join us for a special tea party linked to the story, ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’. In maths, we have been consolidating our understanding of numbers to five and calculating one more and one less. We have also made kites in our exploration of triangles and 2D shapes. We have been very busy learning outside in Forest School and enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits linking in with our learning around Bonfire Night.
